End Of Cricket In Pak==End Of Pak Itself

The Frankenstein has been out for quite some years but this attack is significant. Attack on any sport is an ultimate act of deperation.Cricket is considered as the people's game in pakistan. The selection of the target is most irrational thing.Therfor I am saying that the paki terrorists has crossed their limit(for pakistan of course bz against India they know no limits). Pak created the terror infrastructure and now the Bhasmasur is out to engulf his creator.

1.No city is out of the reach of terrorists in Pak.
2.No target is out of the bound of the terrorists.
3.Though terrorism is not unknown to Punjab province of pak, Punjab was considered as not on the hit list of terrorists.
4.Jihadis are working against the aims of the Pakistani errorist government.
5.Cricket World Cup 2011 in Pak is impossible now.
6.This attack has badly shaken the pakis bz of the selection of the target.Attack on Sri Lankan team is in fact attack on the paki authorities.

This is not the first attack on paki authorities or leaders or people but this is the first direct challenge to the paki government by the Jihadis.Jihadi terrorists have caught the errorists paki government on wrong foot and that too with out serving any paki official geopolitical objective.

Pub Culture and Our Culture

Recently there has been a controversy over impact of pub culture over our culture. Unfortunately we are neither aware of "our" culture nor of "pub" culture. No society is devoid of virtues and vices though their balance may change from time to time and society to society.Virtues and vices i.e. good and bad, these are qualitative terms and are not quantifiable.
What I want to underline here is that we have a long tradition of social or socio-religious drinking. Our Vedic ancestors used to gulp gallons of Som Ras as a a religious practice plus it also worked as an event of social gathering.
Islam prohibits drinking. But muslims were never completely against Sharab. Have a look at what mirza Ghalib has to say on this topic.
जाहिद शराब पीने दे मसजिद में बैठ कर
या वो जगह बता जहा पर खुदा हो

zaahid sharaab pine de masjid me baiTh kar
yaa vo jagah bataa jahaa par Khudaa na ho

Now the questions are:

Were there no drinking culture (somras culture, saaki culture) in India?
What are the causes and implications of pubs?
And ultimately why target pubs anly? Why not target drinking?
Are we against elite classes projecting the pubs?
Is drinking corrupting our sisters and mothers?

  • It is not true that India was not aware of drinking culture in the past.
  • Pubs,MTV,Malls, etc. are part of new contemporary culture. The NEW CULTURE is neither orienatal nor occidental. This culture is an offspring of materialism. Neither East nor West was and is totally abhorrant of materialism. where ever their is prosperity and affluence it is difficult to stop the spread of hedonism and indulgance.
  • It can't be said that we are against elite classes that go to pubs bz we are not denouncing the Liquor Barrons. They have become our representatives ( Vijay Mallya was/is a Rajya Sabha member). Our farmers are encouraged to set up wineyards and wineries. Our Agri. Minister is a great supporter of wineries (or wine barrons are his great supporters). Some politicians in Maharashtra were planning to allow selling of beer in groceries since beer is not madira. family member of a late PM of India from UP visited Nashik wine farms to learn more about wineries as a rural industry.
  • If drinking is immoral then our menfolk are corrupt. But not all men are corrupt bz not all men drink. So not all women will get corrupted if some of them start going to pubs.In any case our women are not the sole custodian of morality and culture. We do not want ideal mothers and sisters if we are allowing our fathers to get corrupted under the influence of madira.
The point is that there have always been conflicting values and practices in society.

Vices are need to be tackled at two levels-- at social level
at indiavidual level

At the level of society vices like drinking shall be condemned and no glorification of vices be allowed. This is to be done with the help of values. Gandhiji did that.
At the level of individual we must educate and enlighten an individual to refrain from drinking. A father has the responsibility of not drinking in front of his child and if he does then the child will not fill the stigma associated with drinking.

In any case goondaism, hooliganism is not the answer. This is a democratic society and democratic means shall be used. Direct action is useful but this weapon is impotent while dealing with thoughts. A thought must be defeated by a thought. Only then direct action will become productive.

Until then it is better to have moral goondas in the manglore jail.

India's 20 Most Wanted .......... No.7

Salahuddin, whose real name is Mohammad Yusuf Shah, unsuccessfully contested the 1987 Jammu and Kashmir assembly election on a Muslim United Front ticket. The election was widely reported as being rigged by poll allies, the National Conference and Congress party. Disillusioned by the democratic process, Salahuddin moved to Pakistan and took up the gun.

He has led the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen since November 11, 1991.

Salahuddin is a longstanding member of the separatist Kashmiri political group, the Jamaat-e-Islami -- one of the 26 original constituents of the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference -- which is headed by hardliner separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani.

Before taking over Hizbul's Muzaffarabad-based command, Salahuddin acted as its 'district commander' from late 1989.

The Hizbul Mujahideen drew its first cadre from the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front -- another separatist political organisation -- with Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Maqbool Illahi and Abdullah Bangroo starting the pro-Pakistan outfit on instructions from the Jamaat leadership.

Mohammad Ashraf Dar soon fell out with his ISI masters, and was thrown out of the Hizbul, paving the way for Salahuddin.

Now things seem to have come full circle: Salahuddin is at war with his Kashmir valley-based commanders, notably Abdul Majid Dar.

There are no police records against Salahuddin relating to pre-1991 crimes. It was only in 1997 and 1998 that serious efforts were made to build a case against him.

India's 20 Most Wanted --------- No.6

Ayub Memon
Location: Karachi

Like his older brother Tiger, Ayub too is wanted in connection with the March 12, 1993 Mumbai blasts, besides terrorism and arms smuggling.

It was at the Memon home in Mahim, north-central Mumbai, that the blasts plan was hatched and it was in the same house that the conspirators stored the explosives.

The Mumbai police and customs department had detained Ayub several times before he escaped to Pakistan just before the serial explosions.

Chhota Shakeel
Location: Karachi

This Dawood aide is the reason why the Indian movie industry lives in perpetual fear of a call from Bhai -- Bombay-speak for gangster. Like his mentor Dawood, Shakeel too has dabbled in all things nefarious -- murder, extortion, gunrunning -- but 'specialises' in extortion. And money-churner Bollywood is his favourite hunting ground.

Indian intelligence agencies say Shakeel is also an ISI agent. Shakeel has been charged with trying to kill Shiv Sena leader Milind Vaidya and planning assaults on film producer Ramesh Sharma and art director Sushankar Manjekar.

In an interview with India Today magazine in January 2001, Shakeel said, 'Today we are involved in everything -- from extorting money to financing films and helping whoever comes to us with genuine requests.'

India's Most Wanted ------- No.4

Ibrahim Abdul Razak Memon
Location: Karachi

Better known as Tiger Memon, the CBI says he was the key conspirator in the March 12, 1993 blasts in Mumbai.

Thus while Dawood Ibrahim and his close associates like Abu Salem were important links in the Mumbai blasts, Tiger was the man in charge of the terrorism.

The CBI says Memon fled India immediately before the serial blasts went off.

He is also wanted in connection with extortion, kidnapping, terrorism and smuggling cases

The Mumbai police reportedly found cars and two-wheelers stuffed with explosives in the godowns of Tiger's house at Mahim in north-central Mumbai.

Tiger's younger brother Yakub Memon is in custody of the Mumbai police. Tiger's wife and mother, who are among the accused in the Mumbai blasts case, are out on bail. His father Abdul Razzak, also one of the accused, died a few years ago.

India's 20 Most Wanted ............... No.3

Dawood Ibrahim
Location: Karachi

From murder, extortion, narcotics and gold smuggling, realty mafia to gunrunning, Dawood and his hydra-headed organisation, the D-Company, have been there, done that.

Probably the most familiar name on the list, what India wants him most for is his involvement in the wave of bombings that killed 257 people in Mumbai, India's financial capital, on March 12, 1993.

Shortly before the blasts, Dawood fled to Karachi from Dubai and settled there, with a little help from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence. Latest reports say he has shifted base to Islamabad following America's decision to brand him a global terrorist. There is an Interpol red corner notice against Dawood as well. But he still lives a free man and reportedly attended his daughter's wedding in Dubai last month.
